Wildlife pond restoration at Grindon, Staffordshire

BlueSky Environmental Solutions were commissioned to design and implement an affordable solution to address the land-owners following objectives:

  • To contain the water flowing into the field from the neighbouring land by the restoration of a wildlife pond.
  • To maximise the opportunities for biodiversity by the improvement of existing wildlife habitats and the creation of new habitats.
  • To contain and control the flow of excess water in the field by improving the drainage and utilising existing on-site soakaways.
  • To introduce additional measures to prevent the field from flooding / becoming waterlogged and to bring areas of the field back to land that could be used for agricultural purposes.

The following photographs illustrate that process
