Lake Restoration Project - Queen's Park Longton, Staffordshire

Queen’s Park Partnership, a local community group based at Queen’s Park, Longton, Stoke on Trent, successfully secured over £49,000 from Community Spaces to undertake a lake and access improvement scheme within their park.

  • Improvements within the project included:
  • Construction of fixed fishing pegs around both park lakes
  • Improved access to the watercourse between both lakes
  • The installation of weirs to create small pools within the watercourse to improve biodiversity
  • Repairs to a leaking outflow
  • Installation of a solar powered water feature to improve water quality
  • Marginal planting and installation of pre-planted coir rolls
  • Design and installation of interpretation panels

BlueSky Environmental Solutions were commissioned to undertake the project management of the scheme to ensure successful delivery of the scheme within the allocated budget.
